Chip manufacturing seems to be the big focus of electronics in the US, but we're missing the bare bones. Qualcomm has recently acquired Arduino and shifted an Italian juggernaut to the US. Arduino has been responsible for more innovation and emerging engineers than any other system within the last couple decades.
When early thinkers and creators need to go further than a breadboard to produce a PCB, China wins hands down. Creating a simple PCB in the US averages 800-3,000% higher cost, even when recent tariffs are factored into the equation.
Automation is needed to make this process available at a reasonable cost with US origins. Chinese Pick and Play houses have already laid out the road map of efficiency. Intelligent automation is needed to let the US compete and your help is needed Elon.
